Dr Kerry Chant’s health advice does little to ‘inspire confidence’

Political Strategist Brigid Meney says NSW Chief Health Officer Dr Kerry Chant’s comments about not engaging in conversation with others is “not the sort of commentary that inspires confidence among people”.

“I’d love to see the health advice that says you can’t have a socially distanced, mask-wearing chat with your lonely neighbour next door,” Ms Meney told Sky News host Cory Bernardi.

“This level of crackdown is only going to make people who are already doing the right thing feel unnecessarily fearful that they’ve got to keep doing more and more and restricting their social interactions, which has huge flow-on effect to the general population.

“It is human instinct and we want to preserve that as human instinct.”
