Massillon Library teams with Hunger Alliance for snacks, sports equipment

MASSILLON – Kids stopping by the Massillon Public Library on Thursday for some books were able to grab a free snack and an extra bag of goodies.

Through a partnership with the Lindy Infante Foundation and the Children’s Hunger Alliance, library staff and local dignitaries, including Mayor Kathy Catazaro-Perry and Stark County Commissioner Janet Weir Creighton, passed out a “Sport in a Bag.”

The book bags contained a football, basketball or soccer ball, cones and a jump rope.

The Lindy Infante Foundation helps cover the costs of youth athletics. It was founded in honor of Lindy Infante, a Hall of Fame captain for the University of Florida football team and head coach of the Green Bay Packers and Indianapolis Colts. He also served as the offensive coordinator for the Cleveland Browns.
