Queensland Health lists stores inside Westfield North Lakes as exposure sites


A Westfield shopping centre on the outskirts of Brisbane is at the heart of a new COVID scare.

Several stores inside the Westfield North Lakes were listed as exposure sites by QLD Health late on Friday night.

They include the EB Games and Coles within the shopping complex.

Customers who attended the stores at the same time are considered close contacts and should immediately seek testing and complete an online contact tracing form.

The affected locations, all within the Westfield North Lakes, and times, all on Wednesday, June 30, are:

  • Men’s Toilet (ground floor past lolly shop and hairdresser) between 10.15am-10.30am.
  • EB Games between 10.33am-10.48am.
  • Best and Less between 10.40am-10.45am.
  • Health Shop between 10.45am-11am.
  • Coles between 10.50am-11.27am.
  • EB Games between 11.17am-11.32am.

It comes after lockdown was extended in Brisbane and Moreton Bay for a further 24 hours.

Queensland Premier Annastacia Palszczuk said there had been three local cases recorded, including a mother and daughter who had been out in the community “quite extensively”.

An announcement on whether lockdown will lift is due to be made on Saturday morning.
