Liam Payne delighted fans by sharing a shirtless picture on social media from his late night workout session as he showed off his new cupping bruises.
In the snap, the former One Direction singer is posing in front of a mirror wearing only a pair of grey shorts as he revealed he was in the gym to hit the weights.
“Late night lift ft cupping,” he wrote alongside an arrow which pointed to the bruises on his chest.
“And tiny socks,” Liam joked, with another arrow drawn towards his little white trainer socks.
The Strip That Down hitmaker had a number of red circular marks plastered across his chest from the therapeutic treatment, which involves smalls cups being placed on the skin to create suction.
Liam was surrounded by weights, sports equipment, and an exercise ball as he snapped his selfie.
Cupping is an ancient form of alternative medicine, dating back thousands of years, and is favoured by famous faces including Gwyneth Paltrow, Jennifer Aniston and Justin Bieber.
Special cups are set on fire, before being extinguished and then put straight onto the skin. As the air in the cup cools down, it creates a vacuum, which causes the skin to turn red as the blood vessels expand.
The red bruises on the skin disappear after 10 days, and the British Cupping Society claims that cupping therapy can be used to treat a variety of conditions, including high blood pressure, depression and fertility problems.
Liam, 27, has been hitting the gym in recent weeks, following his split from fiancee Maya Henry earlier this year.
During an interview on The Diary Of A CEO podcast last month, the singer announced he and the American model had parted ways, and spoke candidly about his behaviour that may have caused the split.
“I feel like more than anything at this point, I’m more disappointed in myself that I keep on hurting people. That annoys me. I’ve just not been very good at relationships. And I know what my pattern of things is with relationships at this point.
“I’m just not very good at them so I just need to work on myself before I put myself on to somebody else,” Liam explained.
The singer, who shares Bear Grey with ex Cheryl, reportedly made the decision to end his engagement to Maya after wanting to spend more time with his son.
“He’s devoted to being a dad and making more time with his little man now he’s getting older. Liam is taking care of himself better now, working out more and a clean living lifestyle too,” an insider told The Sun.
Liam and Cheryl hit the headlines when they started dating in 2016, but broke up in 2018, less than a year after welcoming Bear.
The singer, who found fame on the hit ITV show The X Factor, recently heaped praise on ex Cheryl, as he discussed their co-parenting relationship.
“I mean, Cheryl is literally the best person to co-parent with. No stress involved. It’s very, very relaxed, and we spend a lot of time on FaceTime.
“And it’s been really lovely, and I’m closer to them than I’ve ever been before, actually, which is really, really nice,” he told Glamour magazine.
