Burnie’s collective heart rate may have just got a bit faster,thanks to a set of new outdoor exercise stations along a popular Coastal walkway. The Burnie City Council recently installed four new stations along the South Burnie Foreshore, between the Yacht Club car park and the Emu River. Each station, opened last week, include two pieces of equipment and are now available for use. Exercise equipment includes; The total cost of the project has been valued at $24,163, and was completed by mid June. The next project due to be completed is a taxi rank shelter on Mount Street near the existing taxi zone, complete with windbreaks and seating to provide a dry and comfortable area for people to use while waiting for a taxi.
