More than $22,000 has been announced in funding grants for local sporting and community groups.
The organisations will receive the state cash in areas like new uniforms and equipment as well as helping sports get back on their feet after the pandemic.
Recipients in the South Barwon region include the Grovedale Guides, 2nd Highton Senior Guides, Geelong Basketball Association, Surfcoast Basketball Association, Torquay Cricket and Football Club, Working Equitation Geelong, AFL Barwon Commission and Surfing Victoria.
Minister for Community Sport, Ros Spence said the money is coming from the State Government’s Sporting Club Grants Program.
“The Sporting Club Grants Program is giving grassroots sports clubs in South Barwon the support they need to grow their ranks and help more people than ever play the sports they love.” she said.
